caring for your mastiff pieces
A care guide on the best way to clean and maintain each piece so they last while you create your legacy.
At Mastiff, we build clothing designed to last — but like all meaningful things, they require proper care. From waxed fabrics to hand-painted finishes, each design demands thoughtful handling. Below is everything you need to know about caring for your Mastiff garments.
General Care (applies to all garments)
-
Preferably dry clean — safest option for all pieces
-
Hand wash cold if not dry cleaning — never use hot water
-
Wash inside out to protect finishes
-
No bleach or harsh detergents
-
Air dry only — never tumble dry
-
Steam instead of ironing for best results (some pieces can be ironed, but steam is safest)
Care by Fabric or Technique
Painted / Sprayed Finishes
-
Do not machine wash
-
Do not tumble dry
-
No heat, no scrubbing, no solvents
-
Hand wash cold, gently, avoiding all painted areas as much as possible
-
Dry flat or hang, away from direct heat
-
These finishes are sealed, but they remain artworks — treat them with care.
Waxed Materials
-
Never machine wash
-
Spot clean or cold hand wash only
-
Air dry only — no tumble drying or heat exposure
-
Do not iron or steam
The fabric has been treated and sealed. Machine washing will undo that.
Lustrous / Sheen Fabrics
-
Can be ironed on low heat only
-
No steam
-
Always iron inside out to prevent unwanted shine
-
Avoid high heat pressing, as it can permanently affect the fabric surface
White Garments
-
Must be washed separately
-
Hand wash cold only
-
Avoid any contact with coloured garments or dyed fabrics
-
Air dry in shade to avoid yellowing
For Dry Cleaners
-
No high heat
-
No pressing on lustrous fabrics
-
No solvents on painted finishes
-
Low-agitation methods only
-
No bleach
